Facilities Management opens new shop building

The Saunders Workshop No.3 is up and running. The new facility houses the FMGT grounds maintenance team, vehicle repair shop and fabricating/welding shop. This addition is part of the seismic and code upgrade of existing shops. The building, which was constructed over 2017-2018, is approximately 533 square metres in size and is located north of Saunders building. The building meets current seismic and sustainability standards, and is set to be certified as LEED Gold. Building access is restricted to FMGT staff, but we encourage you to take a walk along Alexander Avenue (behind the Saunders and Saunders Annex buildings) to take a look at the exterior. The area will feature refreshed landscaping in the next few months.
