Dr. Yang Shi named ASME fellow
Dr. Yang Shi has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)—the highest elected grade of the society’s membership, awarded to members who have attained excellence in mechanical engineering and who have contributed actively to the progress of their profession and to society. ASME referred to Yang as “an internationally leading scholar in networked and distributed control systems, and cyber-physical systems.” His research also contributes to practical applications including mobile robotics, quadrotors and energy systems. He was also recently inducted as the Fellow of Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering in March 2016.
