Congratulations! Arthur Makosinski for the 2015 UVic President's Distinguished Service Award.

Congratulations! Arthur Makosinski for the 2015 UVic President's Distinguished Service Award.

Mr. Arthur Makosinski has received the 2015 President's Distinguished Service Award.  As the “longest serving” technical staff members, Mr. Arthur Makosinski is the Laboratory Manager of Mechanical Engineering.  He runs the daily operation of all teaching labs, supports all research labs, and designs and develops new lab equipment for Mechanical Engineering as well as the new engineering programs, whenever assistance is needed. In addition, he also generates and maintains the course schedule and graduate student office space for Mechanical Engineering, filling the gap of the Program Assistant role in the department since the founding day.

In addition to his outstanding services in running our demanding teaching labs, supporting our diversified research activities, and leading our technical support staffs.  Art has made extraordinary efforts beyond his responsibility to support UVic and the general public in a variety of ways. The uniquely long serving time, fully devoted professional work and services, incomparable knowledge and technical skills to design, fabricate and maintain teaching equipment, as well as uncountable warm assistances beyond his responsibility, make him the ideal candidate for the President's Distinguished Service Award.
